The School Board of St. Stanislaus College has crafted a Maintenance Plan for the College to be executed in phases. In view of the fact that Saints has been designated a Sixth Form Science School, this plan, for presentation to the Minister of Education, is intended to raise general standards at Saints. Our consultants are; Ms G Whyte-Nedd (retired CEO ag.), Dr. K Hunte (retired Director SSRP), Dr. Thomas Singh (Lecturer at UG) and Mr. D. Khursail (retired HM SSC).

To this end, the Saints Board has already done a fine job in completely refurbishing the Physics , Chemistry, and Biology Labs.  It included the re-modeling of the Lab office which is also used as the sample storeroom and the prep room.  All of the tables, plumbing, windows and stools were repaired and repainted.

The Saints Alumni Association of Toronto also sent much needed Science equipment to the tune of $22,000 (CND) so far this year. This included items such as Computers, Distillation Apparatuses, stop clocks, digital multi-meters, magnetic kits, micrometer screw gauges, etc.

The Alumni Association of Antigua has also contributed $2,500 towards refurbishment and will be undertaking responsibility for a fume chamber.
Very recently, the College received a gift of microscopes and a spectrometer organized by the Give Them A Hand Foundation of the UN, based in New York. Initial work was done by alumnus Mark Bannister of GTLime and another alumnus, Mark Anthony of the UN, made the arrangements. Thanks to these gifts students no longer have to visit the University to conduct any laboratory sessions.
.
Yet another alumnus, Dr. Leslie Fung, was able to arrange a donation of a Panasonic commercial grade printer.  This machine has been of great help since large quantities of Test Papers and Documents can now be photocopied at the College.

The Ministry of Education had previously refurbished the Information Technology Labs and provided new computers and air-conditioning units. It had also refurbished the Hopkinson Wing (Admin Building) along with a shed added to the northern face of the South Wing. Vertical wooden louvers have replaced the horizontal ones, improving lighting in the classrooms and laboratories.

All of these recent improvements and gifts have put the College in a great position to make a valuable contribution to the efficacy of Science Education in Guyana. We are very grateful to all our alumni and the Ministry of Education for helping us to attain this noble goal
