In Observance of Agriculture Month 2012, an essay-writing competition was launched. This essay competition allowed students from schools across Guyana to express their candid views on the topic: Agriculture Co-operatives - Key to Saving the World. Participants were placed in two categories: ages 10-13 and Ages 14-16 to allow for maximum participation.
Students of St. Stanislaus College participated in this essay-writing competition and two students, Mr. Pooran Ramkellowan and Mr. Daryll Goodchild, from the 14-16 category, were awarded second and third place respectively. At a presentation ceremony held at the National Centre for Education Research Development, both students were awarded trophies and commended for their outstanding performance.
The Chairperson then encouraged all students present to take full advantage of the opportunity to be part of the next Agriculture Month Essay-Writing Competition.
