Camille Claire De Castro R.I.P.






It is with much regret and great sadness that the St. Stanislaus College Alumni Association Toronto announces the passing of Camille De Castro, beloved wife of Alumnus Rupert De Castro, Founding Member and Past President of the Toronto Alumni Association.


Below is the obituary and funeral arrangements.

De Castro, Camille Claire
Passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017, at the age of 70 at Shepherd Lodge. Camille will be missed by her husband of 50 years, Rupert De Castro, and her siblings Paula, Joan Marie, Rosemarie, John, Patrick, Donna, Marietta, Manuella, Christopher, and Christine.

Funeral Service to be held on Tuesday May 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Ogden Funeral Home,  4164 Sheppard Ave (East of Kennedy), Agincourt.

Reception after the service, followed by entombment at Forest Lawn Mausoleum.

Donations made to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.

Raymond Anthony Martins R.I P.

RAYMOND ANTHONY MARTINS


On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in his 78th year, our beloved father and grand-dad passed away at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, ON after many years battling with cancer.

Raymond was the loving father of Dwayne (Mary-Jane) and Nicholas (Karen).  Much loved grand-dad to Megan (Adam), Daniel, Matthew, Kylie and Noah.  Raymond is survived by his mother Dorothea Ona Mendonca and predeceased by his step-father Joseph Mendonca and by his father and step-mother, Gerald and Leila Martins. Loving brother of the late Patricia McConnell (the late Richard), Gerry (Junior) Martins (Yvonne), Mary Roberts (Stewart) and Fiona Willison (David).  Also, survived by his former wife Jacqui Martins.

Raymond was born in October 1939 and raised in Georgetown, British Guyana.  He spent many years working for Barclays Bank throughout the Caribbean, which took him to Belize where his son Dwayne was born and Monserrat where his son Nicholas was born.  After a stay in Barbados, the young family immigrated to Canada in May 1972 settling in Brampton, ON. Raymond joined Scotiabank where he had numerous managerial roles over the course of his career. In later years, Raymond relocated to Burlington to be closer to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them on a regular basis.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 12 p.m., followed by a celebration of Raymond's life in the Chapel at 1 p.m. and reception.  If desired, donations in Raymond's memory can be made to Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, ON or to any branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Saints Caribjam 2017

New York's Finest Angels Caribbean Band will open their Canada Tour on Friday, August 4 at the Saints Alumni Toronto Annual CaribJam Dance at the Pickering Recreation Centre.
This will be another sold out event and you are encouraged to book your tickets early with your usual supplier.
Saints Alumni Toronto is proud to continue its tradition of providing high calibre entertainment and enjoyment at their fund raising events for their alma mater celebrating in 2017 - 151 years of Excellence in Education in Guyana.
It is not too early to plan which Caribana events to attend but Saints CaribJam Dance starts it all off and ends with Last Lap Lime on the holiday Monday. BTW, Last Lap Lime tickets will be available at the CaribJam Dance and you may be in for a bargain! Did I say that the Angels will also be the featured band at Last Lap Lime? Come on out and enjoy the Power of Live Caribbean Music at both events.

M. "Bunny" Greaves R.I. P.

 Alumnus  M. “Bunny” Greaves (48-53) passed away on Monday, 1 May, 2017, in London, England, after a period of illness.  He is survived by his wife Joanne (Seabra) and other family.
