The St. Stanislaus’ College 150th anniversary celebrations
got off to a great start with the Easter weekend events – a karaoke and lime on
Easter Saturday and a Fun Day and Kite Flying on Easter Monday. The weather put
a damper on the karaoke and the College Association Executive would like to
thank the many diehards who came to the event despite the gloomy weather. It
was apparent that Saints people are quite talented as we had amateurs belting
out Eminem, Madonna and big dancehall hits – and sounding real good.
The weather was much more kind on Easter Monday and we had
an encouraging turnout from alumni and the general public. We had planned to
close off the event by 18:00hrs but went until 20:00hrs to give persons more
time to enjoy the camaraderie. It was heart-warming to see the joy on people’s
faces when they ran into old friends they haven’t seen in years. Two teachers,
Ms. Hazel Moses and Ms. Claudia Heywood, spent some time with us. For those who
don’t know, both taught French during the 1980s while Ms. Moses did English and
Literature also.
